Wattsburg Walking Club walks every day before school and Wednesdays after school. Our students are reaching their 10,000 steps per day goal everyday the fun way!
Thanks for the clarification Brandon. Have you collected consent forms for all users who have voted for this video? Judging by the comments, a high portion of these users are students.
Our elementary students have not voted at school and when they have voted at home it is via their parents! Our high portion of users stems mostly from adults and a few students ages 15 and up!
Kevin, no we never collect consent forms for voting. Like the vast majority of websites, we have terms of service which state how old you have to be to create an account. The last thing we want to do is invade privacy by requiring every single person who creates an account on our website to give us a signed consent form with their age.
It sounds as though your concern is not so much Coppa related but rather you are focused on how many votes a given submission might be getting. It's a legitimate concern which is why we check many different attributes (automatically and manually) to make sure people are not creating multiple accounts against the rules and the like. Just because a vote appears on the website does not necessarily mean it is going to be counted, if it breaks the rules.
Submissions can be disqualified for going against the rules.
Perhaps you should read the rules as well:
You can win if you surf with an adult
If you are under the age of 13, you must have a parent or guardian register for you on this site, and let them submit your great ideas or innovations for you. You'll still be able to win challenges and prizes on this site, but your parents will be able to make sure that you're protected from strangers or others who want to misuse your private information.
Bethany,
It appears as if you are definitely in the front running. I hope this stays that way. I know that you will use that $5000 wisely. I love that you are still doing your walking program for the kids and adult helpers. Nice going!
I am not sure who you are Kevin, and why what Wattsburg is doing is such a concern to you. We live in a wonderful community, and I can assure you that if there are students who voted, then they did it with their parents help and consent. I think that Miss Lawrence is a wonderful teacher, and the children in Wattsburg are very fortunate to have her and this Walking Club!!

There is always someone like you Mr. Kevin L, who comes along and finds fault with innocence.

Kevin, not true. This competition has adults who enter on behalf of the team, and consent forms are required for all videos.
